"The Boneyard"
February 5, 2010
I saw several shows at the Brother's Pizza, and I met the new owners of "The Boneyard" (BJ and Marlene Cox) at Common Ground back in the day, so I was very excited to see what the Boneyard would be like. Let me just tell you that BJ is so stinkin excited about opening the Boneyard. They have all the sound and light equipment from the Brother's, but they also added some stuff they bought from the Executive Inn when it closed. So I couldn't wait to go see a show there, which I finally got to do last Monday night to see Seventh Day Slumber.
The good news about that show is that 7thDS sold out the Sunday night show, so they added a Monday night show. Even on a school night, even after they sold out the night before, there was still a crowd of about 50 people or so. The opening band was Chord of Three from Bowling Green. Their lead singer wore a kilt and totally played bagpipes in one song. 7thDS' set was really good. They played alot of worship songs off their new album. They opened with a very 7thDS style version of "How Great is Our God" and kept rocking the whole time.
If you haven't been yet, come out next Friday night, Feb 12th. There won't be a band that night, but we'll just hang out, listen to music, and play board games or something. Good news is: it's a free night! Just bring some money for coffee or other drinks.
